I have now lost 6 chickens to an "unknown" predator. The lot is fenced really good, top covered with netting but still having some loss. There are only 2 possibilities that I can come up with at this time. Do guineas kill chickens? I know they torment them by pulling feathers but would they take off heads? There is a possibility a weasel might get through some areas of 2x4 wire and we killed one a few years ago. We live with woodland behind pen and lake within a mile. All chickens had the heads removed and bodies left. I know that is owl or weasel type killing and an owl cannot get into the area. There have been two chickens killed each time and those were chickens that roosted in the open area of the pen instead of inside the house and they were the smaller breeds of chicken. Any help appreciated. Also, if you think weasel, how do I trap them?
