I have a buff orpington that consistently lays weird shaped eggs like this. They seem longer than the other eggs in shape and one side is pointy. Her eggs have that thicker band around the middle and crinkling at the top. Any idea what causes this?

Could be caused by stress, however the fact that she's less than a year old is leading me to believe she's just started laying recently. My hens always start laying with strange eggs (double yolkers, abnormal shells, etc) and this clears up after a few months.
She's been laying since July. Never stopped.

I have a duck that is either a Muscovy or a Khaki Campbell that lays long strange looking eggs. They are quite large and I attributed it to their size in coming out of her. Mine taste fine and are good eating so I haven't thought that much about it. Most of my ones laying are only about 9 months old with the exception of one 19 month old Muscovy. Mine might be because they are new layers.

Is this a problem?
She loves the grit a lot*, I thought they knew the difference between oyster shell and food but it seemed to help my smaller hens when one of them had some issues with a couple softer eggs.
