I have a bunch of older hens and their egg quantity/quality is declining, but I’ve never seen a yolk like this before. I was cooking it up for the dogs and I guess it was fine (no complaints!), but I wouldn’t have eaten it myself. Any idea what these white spots could be? (BTW - I collect the eggs everyday and use them usually within 3 days.)

I can’t really explain what has caused that, only that I have also seen it before on occasion. It may have something to do with cooking and coagulation. Maybe others may have an answer.

I have this exact problem. Any ideas what it is? What to do?

Have tried treating with two separate kinds of water, one with apple cider vinegar, one with calendula.

We don't eat these eggs.

just read possibly calcium deficiency'

I have free range chickens, and don't feed much feed at all in summer months.

any suggestions?

how does the yolk look before cooking it? I have seen similar when I was cooking an egg, the yolk looked fine before cooking, but the yolk seemed to get cooked spots in it

Do you know what it is? How to treat it?

Afraid to eat, or serve it to another animal, dogs, cats.

Thanks,
