Yes it crossed my mind that it looked like a meat bird but the OP purchased "an egg layer mix"..... not that hatcheries and feed stores don't make mistakes of course!

They're pitching the rainbow types as dual purpose, not a broiler breed. And yes, that is exactly what they look like.

I guess they are a rainbow chicken but their size blew me away they are the same age and are much larger than my others. I took some better pictures.
