Hi everyone, I’m Sage and I’m from Australia . I bought one coronation Sussex and one double silver laced Barnevelder from someone a few weeks ago. At the time I bought them 13/10/19, he said they were both about 6 weeks old. I disagree as they were quite small (I will attach some photos) and the Sussex is larger than the Barnevelder which makes me think the Barnevelder is not 6 weeks. By what the man has said, they’d be 9 weeks old now. Any ideas on age. He sold them both to me as pullets but just want some confirmation and some other opinions. I think the Sussex is a pullet due to body shape, feathers and attitude but I am bit unsure about Barnevelder due to the comb. I’m usually an expert in sexing others but can never sex mine!
Here’s some picture of them at the time I bought them.

Also, I just wanted to share one of my australorp pullets which was about 4 weeks old when this photo was taken (she is now laying) and I definitely thought she was a he! She had the biggest comb before all the boys.

If this helps, here are images of the double silver laced Barnevelders from the same person I bought the ones I have now. They were both boys.

You might have to wait a bit on the Barnevelder. The males usually have more black around the neck when they are older. I would say too young to tell...
Just looked at pictures of it’s parents and the males actually have more white around the neck and females have little to none, so black for females.
