I’m pretty sure this 6 week old chick is a roo. I’ve noticed this little puff of feathers at the end of their tail that the other chicks don’t have. Does this have a name? Or a way to describe it?

I just noticed this on one of me 2 week old chicks on her wings today actually (I say her without knowing gender yet). Not entirely sure what it is but I think it's down feathers that didn't fall off? And nothing is saying roo yet.

Strange. They look like down feathers in the wrong place. Nothing says cockerel so far. :]

This is my first set of chicks ever! So learning a lot. Their comb is making me a bit nervous, but not sure if this could be in line with a six week old chick. They are a bit more aggressive than the other chicks, but maybe just an assertive hen?

Oh wow! That’s super interesting! I’ll try to look that up! Thanks.
