what age to clip wings?

My chickies are 3 weeks old and I have one that is already flying wh on top of the water thingy. When should we clip wings to be sure they dont fly out of the brooder.

I hate the idea of clipping wings, especially for chicks. I know a lot of people do it, and it may be necessary, but I still don't like it. I am not saying it's wrong, and I am not trying to start an argument. So, I just make a wire cover for the brooder rather than clip their wings.

If theyre still in the brooder, save yourself some trouble and just put a top on it. At 3 weeks old, they still have some juvenile molts to go through, and it wont be long before you're clipping wings again

I'm not all that sure that clipping the wings will keep them in the brooder. Chicks can still jump pretty high.

Thanks all! It is covered so it's just when we open the top. I guess we need to start using the side door.
