What are good treats?

My hens absolutely adore the gloppy, seedy mess in the middle of cantaloupes. This would ordinarily go in the compost, but now I run it through the chickens first.

mine like green pepper seeds, I also cooked up some dry beans and they really liked that. But they didn't want to eat the ones with black skin. So I had to peal the black beans for them. I know they are spoiled! My first chicken, Peep a RIR, was and is very spoiled. When I would go outside in the morning she wanted to taste my coffee. Then one day I went out with a glass of V8 splash and she went crazy for it. But her main treat is grass hoppers. I will pick them off my plants and call Peep and where ever she is she will come running to get her grass hopper.

My friends can't believe how she comes running when I call her. I just love my chickens.

Hi My girls have a few favorites. . . watermelon, grapes (my Barred Rock will "kill" for grapes), corn on the cob (uncooked) any kind of lettuce, kale, canaloupe seeds, as another poster mentioned.
They have not yet shown any interest in bananna's, pasta, carrots, cherries. They also love to get out and eat grass. . . in fact, they are my "mowing machines". . .

My chickens get leftover rice, canteloupe seeds, over ripe tomatoes, overgrown cucumbers cut in half so they can peck at the seeds, and plain yogurt.
