What are Rocky and Bullwinkle?

I have these two hens and I have no idea what they are. The crested one is named Rocky… I believe she is a sapphire olive egger? I’ve heard they can lay brown eggs and she lays brown eggs with a gorgeous dark brown bloom. Bullwinkle I have not seen laying an egg yet, she’s the one with the smooshed comb (rose comb?)

Are they from a backyard breeder or hatchery? They look to be mixed breeds to me.

A more high quality backyard breeder I believe. He has an entire second location for his 1000+ chickens and tons of breeds, these were some of his mixes that not even he know what was they were just in the laying pen

The crested one could be a Legbar mix. The one with the rose comb is probably a Wyandotte mix. Hopefully they will be good layers for you.

That would be amazing! I don’t have my legbars or Wyandottes anymore so it would be really nice to have a few mixes of them. Rocky is almost outdoing my best layer already! I feel like Bullwinkle is laying the yellowish eggs I’m getting but at the same time I brought her in I brought in a Brahma and three Easter eggers then a few months later a couple Salmon Faverolle so it’s super hard to tell. Only reason I know Rocky is is because I caught her in the act
