Looked into it more, and they aren't even accepted by the APA, so that probably doesn't help matters. But apparently when the breed was imported to the US, the lines were limited so they outcrossed with similarly patterned breeds such as Barred Rocks, so it is possible to get Cuckoo Marans, especially from hatcheries, that have yellow legs because of this. Rascally hatcheries always making things difficult for us chicken aficionados!
