what breed are these?

Orpingtons are docile birds that tend to go broody. Rocks are bold and inquisitive birds, are very regular layers. Production Reds/hatchery RIR are outstanding layers, personalities can vary quite a lot.

Black Rosecombs are a very old breed "developed in the 1400s" and one of the true bantams "no large breed version". Rosecombs are small bantams that develop large red rose combs and large white earlobes. The pullets lay small white eggs. Yours appears to me to be a cockerel however so no eggs. Primarily bred for show but also make great little pets and yard birds.

Buff Orpingtons is a breed developed in England in the late 1800s. The American version of the Buff Orpington have been developed for less size and more productive laying and also to grow/mature faster than the original English birds.

Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Barred Rocks are breed developed in the US. They are very common and very good dual purpose breeds. And have been finely tuned over many, many years to be both excellent layers and long living breeds. Also for good table birds.
