are beards and muffs very visible on chicks?

Unless the legs are dark, chicks that age seem to have pinkish baby legs, not the final color. Sometimes a chick will seem to have the start of a beard, but not have one at all--it will just be baby fuzz. So, it may become more apparent what breed it is, at least to narrow it down a bit, in a few days more.

im ruling out delaware as well, now.. this came from a white egg, not a brown (like a delaware) egg

White egg probably means a Leghorn cross. Here are some California White chicks from Cackle Hatchery.. they are a Leghorn cross.

those look just like him! He has a little less black, but i think he may be the same!
