That's very interesting. Maybe our area is just generous.

Probably We don’t have any stray cats where we live, only wandering cats, so maybe that’s why we don’t get them free but then you’d think since we have stray rabbits they’d fix them for free but not even close, instead it’s even more expensive.

Buying food and such makes sense because we are also paying tax and pretty much shipping fees as well

Why do you want to get him a mate? If it is for a companion, don't bother. Rabbits are not nearly as social as people think they are.

It’s more for warmth, I do want to breed to sell at swap meets but I’d let them free range, he does seem lonely since he was raised inside constantly socialized and cuddles with
