What do people do with extra males

Extra males are what I call freezer boullion cubes. Sorry, I’m not trying to be shocking. The reality is, that it causes a lot of pain and suffering to have too many males. I make a ton soups and bone broths. Save chicken bones, from the store, I don’t have chickens. I add skinned frozen extra to each batch. I’m too whimpy to do the deed myself, hubby does that. It’s just the reality of raising quail. 50/50 ratio doesn’t work.

I either butcher my extra males, sell them on Craigslist, or take them to the local poultry auction and sell them there. Sometimes the numbers are odd. My very first hatch was 16 quail, and ended up with only 4 boys. Next couple of hatches were more close to the 50/50 ratio.
