I was looking at my 4 week old chickens yesterday and I noticed something: one of my silkies has WAY more feathers on his legs and feet than one of my other silkies. I was wondering if this has any indication of what gender the chicks are. I know it's way to early to tell for sure, but does anyone know anything about this?

While it would be great if that was a method that worked, leg feathering just varies based on an individual Silkie's genetics. So it could be male or female!

No, that one just simply has more feathering! Silkies are super hard to sex. You can see many on here will say the only way to be sure is 'when it crows or lays and egg"!

No problem. Your avatar pic is adorable
