Of course! So, did you say that she was bleeding on her back, and near her eye?

Mhm. Maybe when the gander was mounting the duck since geese have teeth he probably pulled on that side where she was bleeding. And her back her was probably pulling on her back feathers or was scratching her with his talon's.

Yeah, that sound about right. They usually need some balance, and they hold somewhere near the neck, especially the aggressive ones, who pull out feathers and such.

During breeding season geese are especially ornery too and can't be trusted to be enclosed with other poultry. My gander was just shy of 15 yrs old when he passed and even with all his orneriness I still miss him so much so does his mate.
