We have an Orpington that’s been laying very long (oblong) eggs. I just cracked the first one and holy crap what is this?

I cracked two more and tho not fertilized, there’s a little more there than just the white and yolk. I put them in the fridge and didn’t eat them in case there’s something going on.

FYI we collect our eggs daily.

Was the egg just laid? Has your hen been dewormed recently?

It was laid about a week ago. I’m not sure if it’s the same hen that was laying the oblong eggs, but had an Orpington get lethargic yesterday and had diarrhea. We gave her Valbazen just in case and today she is seeming much better. Doesn’t necessarily mean she has worms tho.
