we have a spring that pops up on our property and right now it is the only source for water around so i decided to put up the camera.
i know we have armadillo, skunks, raccoons, possums, fox and coyotes.i have never seen a bobcat on our property but i am sure they are around.

this is our resident red fox so i know what it looks like on the photos-just for comparison)

these are crows in the same area as the unknown animal for size comparison.

this is the animal in question-i hope it is a big house cat.its tail just isn't right for the fox.
the color is not right for most domestic cats either, darker on top and light underneath, and the black tipped tail.

I'm not an outdoorsman but it looks like a cougar or large cat, not a housecat. Keep those chickens safe.

Huh...the only thing throwing me is the tail; the tail isn't fox-like (not even if the fox had mange, which is common among fox). It actually appears somewhat feline, although it is not a bobcat. Almost looks like a juvenile mountain lion...not likely in your area, right?

well we are not supposed to have cougars(ya never know) and it has a tail for a bobcat.

the chickens are very secure thats why i still let the fox hang out.(covered run, chain link fence , Livestock dog and 2 blue heelers)we have 70 acres and he can live as long as he doesn't come too close to the dogs or chickens.
