What is this pretty girl? (Red Star? Rhode Island?)

Found this young lady in a park a few weeks ago, she's not yet laying, I'm gonna guess she's about 4-5 months old. Really pretty subtle lacing. Any idea what she is? Any guesses what I'll get when she mates with my GLW Roo?

As soon as I've got eggs I'll put some under the silkie and see what I get.

It's my understanding that golden comets are a hybrid and therefore don't breed true. Is this correct? If so, what does that mean in practical terms for the offspring?
