What kind of niacin should I give my ducklings?

I love autocorrect. Not.

I think you meant crude protein, yes?

Anyway, seems to me if you add one part chopped rolled oats (not instant) - you can run them through a blender quickly - to 5 parts of 24% crumble you should be in the neighborhood of the recommended protein levels for ducklings.

Stoney's Guide says the first two weeks the protein target is 18% to 20%.

So if you cut 24% by a fifth, that's 4.8%, 24 minus 4.8 is 19.2. So that is within the range.

(if anyone notes any mistakes I made, please post!)

There will be some who point out that some literature states the protein percentages are not the critical aspect of avoiding angel wing. Others think it is. I went with Storey's Guide recommendations, we had no angel wing, and have healthy ducks.

I'll +1 Amiga's suggestion on rolled oats and add that I'm now picturing a diagram of a protein wearing a bow tie. SO CUTE!

24% is a bit high, but I don't believe it's terrible unless you keep feeding at 24% for the long term You have the ability to easily lower the protein percentage (easier than having to up it, IMO.)

Keep us updated on your Niacin situation!

Can I just use pure niacin powder? I'm ordering some from Amazon. Here's a picture.
