If things are dosed for a gallon, then grab and extra gallon jug, dose it, and pour from that into the waterer. I'd just make up a fresh gallon every 24 hours, not sure how long to let that stuff sit.

Get Okios triple zero vanilla yogurt
it's very pure. put some in a small jar lid or something and give it to the chicks . Figure a 1/4 teaspoon per chick. leave it in the brooder for about 10 minutes. then if there's any left take it out ,so it doesn't go bad under the hot light. It's very pure, a wonderful probiotic for chicks. You can give them a helping everyday if you wish. Better and fresher for the chicks than adding something to the water. Plus, they already have one supplement in the water by way of the electrolytes.
