When do they stop squatting?

Ok so I got my first egg today!!! It was a very pretty mint color from my Easter Egger, Stir Fry My question is when, if they every do, stop squatting? They have been squatting for about a week now and does that end after they all lay their first couple eggs, or does this continue on? Thanks for the input!!

It seems to stop for most hens, but some will continue to do so. It's for mating, but also a sign of submission.

I have a Bluebell hen that has been laying since September and she still squats all time. All I have to do is walk up to her and down she goes!
