I have a new batch of button quail eggs in my Incubator and it's day 18. Most of the eggs were not fertile and had 7 questionable ones left. No piping but they seem to be trying to Hatch. Lot of small Crack spots on the eggs.

My gut is saying go for it.

Should I wait longer? I just don't want to jump the pew-pew and hurt my chicks 🥺🥺🥺

Wait. Rushing to help can cause more harm than good. You don't want to assist unless the chick is in obvious danger of shrink wrapping, suffocating, or something similar. If the chick externally pipped 24-48 hours ago and has made no progress you can start to investigate by gently peeling away some of the shell (always stop if you see any blood).

I find that trying to assist buttons is almost impossible....just too small....kinda like trying to make 'shoe's for crooked toes, just about impossible, too!
If you do try to assist, go slow and if you encounter any blood, put back in the bator and wait a while longer, till the veins have shrunk, and your not seeing anymore blood.
Also, I have not had good results with assisting buttons, if they need assisting, most likely they won't make it after the assist.

Don't, unfortunately if they don't hatch then they weren't meant to be, it's a struggle for them to hatch for a reason. Give it until day 20 incase u had some cold spots in ur incubator. Then u can investigate further. Eggtopsies. If u find a live chick, do not open further and pop bk in the bator. But ur more likely to find the ones tht don't hatch have either arrested during development or are duds. Even stuck chicks pip. Cracks and separation that isn't ur usual pipping or zipping could mean a dud egg thts expanding as its rots 😬😬 xx

Thank you. I will give it some more time today and then try.
