I have 12 4 week old chicks and it’s getting super warm where I am (today was 93) however it does cool off a bit at night time. I was wondering the best time to remove their brooder plate.

They are probably okay to be off. The rule i use is i drop temp every week by 5-8 degrees. So by 4 weeks mine would be down to about 75. Turn the light off during the day. And if they chirp loudly at night turn it back on. Also where are they being brooded.

They are being brooded outside so they’re already pretty used to outside temperature fluctuations. I normally have the sides of the brooder plastic up to protect them from drafts but it’s been hitting 90 degree temperatures so I have it uncovered. This is what their brooder looks like (before I uncovered it) I’ll get some picks of the chicks tonight. They have a lot of feathers.
