Where do you prefer to buy your Chicks & Eggs?!

I Have been searching through the main hatcheries for chicks. I want a good mix of heardy layers and ornamental birds, colored egg layers. Who do you like to purchase from?

I am Amy and I live in Utah, I've raised back yard chickens so often, have helped other neighbors raise their chickens, but I haven't raised chickens for the last 5yrs due to where I live. But we're moving, so I'm getting chickens!!! WoooHoooo!

Hello, and welcome! Although I mainly hatch chick's from my flock's egg's, I do sometimes buy from other breeder's or hatcheries to bring in some new blood.

I like to purchase from local breeders and my local feed stores the most. For hatcheries, Ideal Poultry is my favorite, since they have small order minimums and free shipping. The chicks I got from them were pretty healthy and hardy. Good luck with your new chickens!

Hi I have bought many chicks from Ideal Poultry and never had a problem with any order. I just received an order last week and all chicks doing well.
