I have a 7 week old (sold as a pullet) that looks like the 10 week old above. I have two leghorns and one still has the tiny comb but the other has the same tail feathers as everyone else but the big red comb. My 3 fellow chicken raisers (no experts) point at it and say "rooster". I keep telling them that leghorns have much larger combs than our brown egg layers, however, the fact that it is deep red already makes me think they are right. I've got 59 total and no one else has ever gotten a red comb until they got mature. So, what's the vote?
