Hi Guys.

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I live in Poland where buff rocks are practically non-existent. I got mine from a guy who imported his from Germany, but he doesn't do it anymore. The problem I have is that I don't have a buff rock rooster. I do, however, have access to white rock hatching eggs and I thought maybe I could hatch some chicks in the spring and later on cross my buff rock hens with a white rock rooster. What will the result be? I heard white is dominant, but I don't know for sure.

You won’t get anything resembling buff.
Plymouth rocks are recessive white but are usually barred underneath.
You’ll probably get single barred offspring that are kind of a mix between buff and black.
You can continue to breed these to the buffs but it might be more work than it’s worth. It might just be easier to use buff Wyandottes or Orpingtons.
