Obsidian gave chase, trying to nip toothlessly at Midnight Chaser's tail.

Apache, curious and drawn by the noise, headed their direction.

Midnight Chaser squealed and playfully bucked, but not touching Obsidian.

Black Sky's watched them as they played. His head shot up though. He smelled a different horse. He whinnied for the foals to come back to him for safely. Midnight Chaser looked at him and madly walked to him.

Starwind heard Obsidian coming up behind her and turned her head to see what was going on

Fear was telling Apache to run, but curiosity was driving him forward. His eyes were on the foals, and he whinnied out a cautious greeting.

Obsidian heard Black Sky's and retreated to hide behind the still sleeping Onyx.

Apache could see that he wouldn't be welcomed here. He wanted to play, but apparently, the stallion thought that the yearling wanted to snake mares or something.

Finally, Obsidian grew brave enough to emerge from behind Onyx. She took several steps toward the dun colt, insatiably curious.

Ivory kept inching close enough to Smile and Metal to remain in earshot. If something startled them, she wanted to know about it. Feeling safe enough, she turned her attention to Copper and Jade, nuzzling them both.

"I'm Apache," the yearling colt said. "I wandered away from my herd to find something to do. Another yearling in the herd and already tried it."

Apache wasn't about to tell how Coal had come back with a filly.

Obsidian glanced back but didn't return. However, when she heard Onyx's annoyed whinny, the foal did turn and slink back to her family.
