After a couple of hours Estelle raised her head, waking Zelda with her demand for food.

Flowers stood up, but when the filly started to nurse, she kicked out. The filly was sent sprawling backwards.

Apache's ears pinned against his head, and he snapped, "What is wrong with you!?"

Flowers' behavior was agitating the colt. SHE was the one who'd wanted to have a foal.

Flowers stood up and lunged at the colt, teeth bared. She was a new dam and her hormones were driving her crazy.
