Would you call this red or brown?

@Tonyroo at 5 weeks now, still think female? (I know it’s early). Even when I buy from pullet bin I constantly second guess and look for signs one way or the other.
I know that I'm not the one you pinged, but looks like a pulllet to me. My EE cockerels (and mixes made from EEs) tend to have pretty pronounced pea combs and visible combs/wattles by 5-7 weeks.
A very pretty bird either way. Reminds me of caramel and vanilla. :)

Oh I appreciate any insight. Only pinged bc of the previous comment. Since you have some yourself what do you think of this one? My other chickens are Leghorns, Barred Rock, and we had Asian black, so pea combs are new to me.

i agree, 3 rows on a pea comb is supposed to mean cockerel, and I've never seen that be wrong.

Regarding your 1st pics, my favorite ever hen was an EE that color. Her name was Cream Puff.

This one looks like he will never lay an egg..... cockerel.
Yeah it’s given my those vibes since day one…as long as it’s the only cockerel I’ll give (him) a chance. We had a Barred Rock roo that attacked our daughter so he had a come to Jesus moment. I’ve made sure we haven’t let them get on our shoulders just in case any of them turned out to be boys. Bummer when you buy as a sexed pullet.

Updated pics-7 weeks. Still thinking pullet for the splash and cockerel for the darker one?
