Someone dropped three very feral roosters off at the end of my road. Animal control was able to catch two and take them to a no kill shelter, for three weeks no one was able to catch the remaining rooster.
Today, I finally caught him. He is very scared and doesn’t want to be around humans but I know I can work with him to at least get him comfortable at a distance.
My question is, should I integrate a young rooster who’s basically feral in with my old hens? My hens range from 6 - 8.5 years old. Three of the eldest are bantams that do not lay anymore and the other 4 are standard size that sometimes lay.
I am worried that the young rooster would be too much for the old bantams.
Anyone have any opinions or suggestions?
