Your experience - how effective is electric netting for free ranging during the day?

Mess with lower quality when buying in bulk (bee hives) or using under conditions that are not extreme. Fewer posts per length suitable for very flat ground but not well suited for any king of hilliness as all. Same problem applies for more static hot-wire fencing where I have to purchase a lot more posts and insulators per lenght of fence. More parts means more labor. The poultry netting is showing to be best where ground is very flat and fencing is to be moved a lot. Poultry netting requires more charger output and more effort to manage vegetation. Paddocks you can have will poultry netting are much smaller which OK with me when confining only cohorts of chicks I want to keep separate from each other and adults.

Agree. My ground is totally flat, and it still rolled and lay on the ground. My charger makes the cows jump and I can hear the zap when they touch it. LOL.

I have the same trouble with Premier on flat ground. Fencing just rolls up on the bottom and lays on the ground. I actually have three separate chargers: Intellishock, solar, and the Kobe. Currently I am using the Intellishock but like the Kobe best. Getting ready to set up two more areas. I think I will stick with the Premier. Overall, I've been really pleased with it.

That's awesome. I continually put off buying the extra posts as I keep thinking there must be a way I can fix it without the extra expense. Now I know what to do, I am so going to use this.

Oh Monsanto, we love you, we hate you, we can't wait to debate you.

Sorry, it's been that kind of day. Sometimes all you can do is laugh.

Does anyone know how long we can reasonably expect the poultry netting to last? I've heard various things and I'm sure it depends on how you use it/store it. But with continual outside use, how long till I may have to seriously start thinking about replacing it? I have no problem repairing to keep it going. I'm thinking about the pros/cons of going to a fence protected by hot wire at the bottom and top. I don't have flyers, so I think a 6 foot fence will keep birds in. I simply want to keep the neighbor dogs, coyotes and foxes out.

I'm used to using the paddock system, so I could fence the areas I use into quarters to keep them on healthy grass. Thoughts?

Edited to delete redundancy. I like that word. Redundancy.

I use the same net as Jack, but with a solar charger.... oh and mine is green.
Perchance do you have a picture of your fencing? I can't seem to find any pics of the green premier netting stretched out...wondering if it's a better blend with the surroundings, my guess is yes?
Also did you go with the poultrynet plus or the permanet plus? Can't decide...thanks!
