Are any geese breeds effective at protecting ducks?

Metzer says that geese protect only because they make noise to warm the ducks. Are there any breeds that will keep predators away from the pond?

I think geese keeping predators away is more about whether the predator wants to chance an encounter with one or if their nest or goslings are near. Geese are territorial and possessive of their food and drink too. Outside of that they may not care if they're relaxing.
