Roo or hen?

Our little chicks are now 4 weeks old. When we got them he sexed them all except the two Cooper marans. Originally I wanted a rir room but there was none in the hatch so we got a buff Orpington roo. He said if we got a roo out of the two Cooper marans we could bring one back and he would give us a hen.

It is too young to tell gender. I would post new photos in a few weeks.

OK I will thank you! I was asking bc I believe I can see the difference with the other roo. The chick in the pic above was just like our bo roo. Tail feather just starting to come in the wings are different than the others and they have been smaller than the others.

Some chicks can be sexed from an early age while others you have to wait and see. The first chick is one of types that you have to wait and see.

At 5-6 weeks increased size and color of wattles and comb should tell the tale on the males.
