Why am I getting huge double Yokers on a daily basis from my 3 Red Star Hens? By huge I mean too large to close an egg carton.

that really is something!
in order to answer that, ill have to come get them and observe them and taste the eggs.
that will give me a better idea of how long ill have to keep and treat them.

not sure why, though it could be many things. it seemed like all the double yolkers ive ever got came within a month period

Still confused. Another one today. Chickens were hatched on March 24... Started laying July 14th. Not sure how these enormous eggs are coming out without causing harm to my girls.

I've heard it's quite common for new layers to lay double yolkers.

I have only had one from my girls, and it was 109 grams! MASSIVE!

I don't know why they do it, but it's not unusual.

Just keep an eye on them. If they are laying regularly, and don't seem to be anxious or in pain, all is well.
