Fluffy butt roosters, has anyone ever trimmed?

I've heard you sometimes have to trim fluffy butted breeds like the BO to aid with fertilization. I'm trying to hatch for the first time, but don't think my eggs are fertile. Does anyone have experience with trimming roosters? I could really use some advice on how to do this.
