The frame up is just about done.
This pic shows the skylight also a window from our neighbors. The skylight faces the West which is really helpful for light late into the day.
This the is the front of the coop. At this point I brought in a handyman while the hubby was traveling for work as a surprise. Our guy was able to tongue and groove the boards that we picked up from our neighbors. The wood was already painted so that is cutting down on the sweat equity. We also were able to get the window from the same neighbors. In this pic there is no trim on the window...that will come later. The door is a custom job as are the steps.
Here is the frame up and some additional supports that the hubby added.
The frame up is just about done.
The kit included these metal brackets with instructions on the size and quantity of wood. We were able to use quite a bit of old wood around our place which helped me feel better about recycling products and also spared our pocket book some...we were going to need it but didn't know yet.
Now finally getting started on the framing of the structure.
Floor is now complete using some plywood around our place and boards from a neighbors old workshop.
