I have a mixed flock of a few hens that are a year and a half, a hen and a roo that are 5 months, as well as 5 ducks that are 5 months. I switched them to flock raiser food when the newbies were old enough but now that they are about ready to lay I am unsure what to give them... Can I feed them...

My 6 month old rooster has developed what look like large black smudges on his face and comb. It isn't dirt or anything that I can wipe off. He has had a nice bright red head until about the last 3 or 4 days. Any ideas what this might be and if I should do anything about it?

Just read up on pox. That may indeed be it but the spots don't seem to be "scabby" in nature...??? Also wondered if it could be caused by some sort of mite.
Either way I need to dust my entire flock, I suppose, since I haven't done that yet.
