Already got word from the local wildlife to go ahead an trap. Pretty grey about the regulations up here. But it helped that there was a bobcat with rabies just north of here. As for the coop, your right. It was meant to be temporary, and a quick place when I got them. I spent 2 months clearing...

What to do about this one. I was unsure of what attacked my dog 2 months ago, but am sure now that it was this bobcat. I have a live trap set up now near the guinea coop.

Best bet would be Craig's List. But get two if you can. The one will get very lonely while integrating and will have an easier time establishing pecking order with a friend. Do you free range?? You might want to fix the fox problem before getting more. That fox will definitely be back.

CM- I have a RIR in my flock and she started laying at 4 months. If you could post a pick of her head and legs it would help. Pale legs and blood red comb and waddles are a good sign. Mine never did the submissive squat. The rule for nesting boxes is 5:1. But they will all have their favorite...

    Ohhhhh Guineas!!!!

Forgot to add that 2 others went missing last week within a 3 hour period while I was inside. A lavender and French pearl. No feathers anywhere in the 7 acres. After that, they started ensuring they were under cover and not in the open. I am thinking a hawk cause they are always looking up when...

Access every day. They would also require their own coop/run as well till they get acclimated with someone else's chickens. So it's 6 full grown and 5 chicks? What breeds?

    Ohhhhh Guineas!!!!

Long story short. Started with 7 guineas in June and while transferring them to their permanent coop at 4 weeks old, 2 go out, never to be seen again. Got 7 more the next week (same age ish) and they all got along great. 3 were transferred to a friend, and at 6 weeks in their coop and run they...

    Are my chicks ok?

Did they go through a juvenile molt yet? No real bald spots on them, but feathers around the coop and run? That's what mine went through a month ago and they were born late March. My first egg was three weeks ago.

I have 11 brown egg Layers (2 EE, 2 BLK AUS, 1 RIR, 2 COL RK, 2 BR, 1 ORP, and 1 BO) that I raised with 5 Bantams (1 GS, 1 SS, 3 OEG's) with no problem. The BO actually treats the Bantams as her babies and she comes running everytime they cry when they are by themselves. As long as they are...

    poop board question

I made mine 1 foot wide then split a 2x4 and stood them up on edge for the sides. Then lined it with linoleum. So width of space for PDZ is 10 1/2 inches.
