could someone please take a guess at what kind the one is on the left? I ah.. forgot
I just went to Gordie's place to pick up some chicks and believe me, the man has his hands full! What a great person though, and he sure loves his animals. I will be back with my mom when her coop is ready!!
I just went to get some chicks from Gordie in Marshfield on my birthday (the day of this post, the 19th!) but I may have some room for another friendly pet, have to talk to my husband. I'm in Wausau too.
Does anyone know if there is going to be a swap in Wausau this Mother's Day? I couldn't find mention of it here or anywhere else but there's usually one at Marathon Park on Mother's Day. I think they call it a Fur and Feather Swap or something?
I was thinking of going to the Neillsville swap but it's 1 1/2 hrs. away from me and I'd have to get up pretty early to get there when it starts. At least my experience with swaps is you have to get there early for the good stuff... If I don't find anything else I'll probably be setting my alarm...
I'm looking for started chicks or laying hens in WI, I'm in central WI (Wausau) and I'd prefer to not have to drive too far!
Specifically, I'm looking for dark brown egg layers (like cuckoo marans) or tinted egg layers (araucana, easter eggers) but I'd be interested in pretty much anything.
Long...
Does he by any chance have started chicks and/or adults (any kind) available? I'm in central WI as well and have been trying to find some started birds with no luck. From reading this thread it appears he's quite busy and there's a response lag so I just wanted to ask here before I bother him...
