Question: Does anyone know if wing feather sexing works on Ameraucanas as new chicks? I use it a lot with pretty good success but new to Ameraucanas and haven't heard if it works. It doesn't work on all breeds. Thanks

Just measured Big Boy my blue JG he is 26" tall @ 16 mos. Will weigh maybe tomorrow. If I get time. I'm am curious to know what he weighs now.

if they are hatchery they most likely are mixed with Australorp. They add that in to increase laying ability. So I've heard. I do have hatchery JG and it seems obvious so I believe it. I now have JG from a private breeder and there is such a diff. Yes hens should be some bigger than standard...

What do you mean? Too many blades? It was split some by a fight with a buff roo that is gone now. He's from a hatchery so I'm sure he's not show stock. I will be at a poultry show tomorrow and see what they have in the breeds I'm looking for. But Blade is a great protector and a good roo.
