We have a flock of 50, With a mix of Delawares, Welsummers, BC Marans, Hollands, and.................Ameraucana's. There's not a single AM with her tail feathers, most look like naked necks at this point, they pile in the nest boxes ( lost two this week to the 100 degree heat plus the nest box...
I have a flock of 50 layers, new this year. We have Delawares, Ameraucanas, and Marans. 3 of our Delawares have started to molt at around 8 months. I have checked them out pretty well and they don't seem to have any bugs of any sort, just looks like a normal molt, but a year early! Any ideas?
That's what i was afraid of. As far as the nipple waterers, wouldn't that still have the same problem? i would just be replacing the bell for the nipples. I guess unless i used them in a 5 gallon buckets, which will be tough for us since we have 70 birds. Maybe i should have mentioned that in...
Im getting my winter coop ready for the first time. Im planning on using bell waterers that are fed from a 30 gallon water tank. Im assuming it will freeze. What is everyones experience with this? Suggestions? Thanks!!
I am working on a project for next year. The setup I am working on would require a cornish cross to climb a ramp through a coop door, 1 foot high off the ground to go out onto pasture and to food troughs.
I'm trying to find some of the plastic nest box pad material. Does anyone know if it comes in a roll, not already cut into pads? Is there an industrial name or use for it that might help me google for it? Thanks!
