What I Learned From My Awful Experience with Avian Flu

As I sit here, sobbing over your experience, I am a mix of emotions. Anger, confusion, outrage, and profound sadness. I hope that you will one day have more babies. I hope nobody else has to go through this. I will give my babies extra watermelon, in memory of yours. I’m praying that God eases...

    Feed prices

Hello, all! With the price of feed going up, what are y'all doing to stretch your feed budget? I'm switching from the box store to the local grain mill & I'm thinking about mixing my feed with scratch grains. What about adding a wild bird seed mix to the feed/scratch? Can I add any other...

    Bantam with injured leg

Hello. I have a bantam hen that has been limping. I put her in a sling to offload the leg, but I'm not sure if it is something I can even treat. Please help. She is eating & drinking, stool looks normal.

    Perosis?

Hello, all I have 4 mystery bantam chicks that I found in my run the beginning of August. Yes, found. They actually snuck in through the links in the fence. They've been growing well & are part of the flock now. I noticed one of the hens was limping & favoring her left leg. I asked the Google...

    Hello from SoDak

Hi there! I'm Lexie & I'm from the Black Hills, in South Dakota. I am a nurse by trade & engaged to a USMC veteran & firefighter. We recently made our dream come true of owning acreage & when he made the mistake of saying "You could get a couple chickens if you want" I let the obsession take...
