alright thanks :) My hen actually got back on the nest just after i wrote this BUT I will go get a styrofoam cooler just in case.....She is a first time broody :) I hope she does a good job.

I know that they only breed once a year but can the hens store sperm for the rest of the year and have more than one batch of poults?

I have two hens setting on a nest together. The tom is also in the same enclosure. I came home and 2 poults were on the opposite side of the enclosure dead and pecked, only one of those was completely out of its egg. One hen(the one who has only been setting about half as long as the other gal)...
