I had better luck with Malathion. Mix up a five gallon bucket of it and dunk them. After I dunked them all and turned them loose in the yard to run I sprayed down the coop with it too. I havn't had any trouble with mites since. That was over a year ago.

Thanks for the replies. I think you are right being that they are dual purpose breeds. They aren't supposed to gain weight like those things you buy at the store. I am slowly culling them out a few at a time. They make great soup or stew. Anyone in the Kemp Tx area that wants to buy a few?

Kemp/Lively/Peeltown area here. Texas is hard to beat! I spent four years in Atlanta GA and I missed home so much. It's hotter than heck here but it's only for a short while. The rest of the year is great. We deer hunt in San Saba TX. I love the hill country.
