Thanks for the suggestions. I thought I had read about people using hardwood ashes. Actually I have a bunch of sand in their run so they can just use that. Hehehe I can kill two birds with one stone. They can use it for a dustbath and eat it for grit..
Thanks again,
Brian
Hi all,
I was wondering if it is ok to use the ashes out of my fireplace for my chicks to take a dustbath in? I have only burnt avocado wood.
Thanks
Brian
Thanks for the help. I noticed that they were getting a bump and thought that they were getting spurs. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I am glad to know that they all get the bump because when I saw it, I was getting a little bummed because I thought they were all roos.
Thanks again...

Hi everyone,
I am new at this, and I am rasing my first chickens ever. I have 12 banties that are 3 weeks old. I am wondering if anyone can tell me. Do all rosters get a spur, and when does it start to develop?
Thanks
Brian
Hi CarriBrown,
Yeah I hear Andersons has good soup. Not many locals actually go there, and I am not big on Pea anything. On the chicken side I am going to assemble my Banty coop this weekend. Can't wait to have them running around my yard. I've never had chickens. I need to order my chicks soon too.
Hi John,
I am new to BYC. I have no chickens yet but I am currently building my coop for Bantams. I live in Buellton. I would assume you know here that is:)
