    Should be but I'm with lazy Gardner should have a back up just in case. Give a friend a dozen or so eggs just to check the water supply

    Speckled Sussex maybe laid first egg?

    I have 5 barred rocks 5 R.I.Rs and on SS she has been laying for maybe2 or 3 months now and she definitely lays a smaller egg than the rest. Pretty easy to spot the SS egg. She is also makes way more noise than the others

    Built a box and just use Wood ash. When the ground is not frozen they make their own in the dirt

    Feeding egg shells

    I have 2 hard boiled eggs every day during the week. I started to save the shells my question is can I feed them back as is? I already crushed them by hand so the size is pretty small. Any reason they would need to be cooked?

    Little free range time but do have a covered run that is 25 by 35ft that they always have access to since I leave the pop door open all the time. Unless it's really cold really cold being below -10 so they are out of the coop for most of daylight hours

    I installed a timer switch hooked up to a porcelain fixture for supplemental light in the winter. A gfci outlet to plug in water heater.

    The butt feathers are missing on the barred rock but not the rir. They are 9 months old. Do not heat the coop and is well vented. 11 birds in a 10ft by 8ft coop. I built a dust bath for them in the coop filled with wood ash and d.e. they also have oyster shells on the side. Their bottoms are...
