After having turkey for a few years now, I've decided to go with a pure breeding flock and want to use Black Spanish Turkey. I don't want hatching eggs.
Any recommendations for a breeder or hatchery to get a good foundation stock?
They both hang out with my older tom.. They only chirp. They come onto the porch when I walk outside.. No displaying. I'm suspecting males too but they behave so calm.
I've asked the question on the fibromelanotic poultry fb page as well.. There has to be a method to getting better hatch rates!! I really don't want to lose these, it may be my only opportunity!!
I have three Swedish Black hen eggs in the incubator.. But the lady I got them from says that they're a hard hatch and even tho she normally has high hatch rates, this breed she has trouble with late quitters or death after pip. Any tips???
White covers expression of color bases and patterns and can be either dominant or recessive. There are no sexlinked attributes of that cross. I will be experimenting with silver/gold sexlinks in the near future.. Silver is dominant to gold and the trait is also located on the Z sex gene.. So if...

Not sure how soon befoyegg collection you separated the female, but chickens have a specialized sperm pouch and can store viable sperm for several weeks. You should wait at least 3 weeks before incubating eggs after removing a rooster.. I wait a full calendar month.
As far as the chicks you've...
