Chicken breed and a general location would probably help people provide better answers.
Here in SW Ohio, my Easter Eggers start molting in late fall( oct/nov) , and have just now got back into the egg laying routine.
The Rural King stock varies from week to week and store to store. I have seen Orpington, Rhode Island, and other common breeds. The last ones I bought were Easter Eggers.
If you want a certain type, give the local store a call and see what they have in stock at the time.
Here is the "3 season" home for the chickens, they live in here mar/april-oct/nov, then they move to the greenhouse for the winter.

I hope it warms up at night soon, or they will be in for a shock when they go outside into the coop

Chick Days at Rural King were my downfall, and there are now 6 cute little fuzzbutts living in an aquarium brooder.
