Good news!
I wrote a statement to the judge about the loss of my chickens due to the dog last month. The animal control officer said that the typical fine is $15 to $20 per bird. I went on the usda website to research hen laying amounts and % of drop after the first year as well as expected...
It's a fun hobby. Almost as relaxing as tending to chickens!
Here is my pinterest page where you can see all my carves from over the years.

Sorry to go off topic but if any of you guys find yourself in North Logan for the Pumpkin walk, and it is after dusk, swing by my house and check out my carving display! 1520 East 1780 North, (Highland Drive). You access it from 1600 east.
I guarantee it is worth the look!
The remaining girls are much better tonight. Poor Huli Huli lost her beautiful tail feathers.
No one is wing dropping or limping. I gave the all some zucchini for dinner.
I did have to laugh when the animal control officer exclaimed, "the dog ripped all the feathers off that ones neck!" He had never even heard of a naked neck turkin before.
I cannot tell how injured any of them are because they are all in shock. One Wheaton has a hole in her back and the Houdan is gimping a bit. My BSL and an easteregger are dead along with the rabbit. The one that faired the best is the NN because she was probably in the henhouse being a broody turd.
After all this time I finally got hit by a predator. Big black lab got into the area where my chicken range and ripped through the flock. Killed the bunny that thought it was a chicken as well. Dog was well known by animal control. Animal control guy says i will get a whopping $15 per bird for...
Got them from Bluegems. Azriel? as in "The Angel of Death?" LOL.
They are beautiful birds and I don't mind the green eggs but I hope to someday have a blue egger.
